My stupidity is epic now

Am I the only utter and complete moron left alive who didn`t know the Supernatural Season 1 DVD would play in a Region 2 DVD player just FINE? Without setting it on codefree?

Aaaaaaaaargh. All this time I watched them on my computer because I thought I HAD to. *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk*

Huh? It does? Why??? *confused as to the technicality of such a thing*

Right now I'm really nervous about something called Regional Coding Enhancement. Amazon.com gave me a 'warning message' telling me that the DVD's I ordered use this thing and that international customers have already reported that they had troubles playing these types of DVD's on their regionfree DVD players. Oh joy...knowing my luck I won't be able to watch the DVD's I recently ordered, although I've been waiting to see 2 of the films for about 8 years now! o.O

Apparently it`s Warner thing. Some of their boxsets are RC1 but good to go for Region 1-4.

I mean I applaud this code thing is stupid anyway. They don`t do it to CDs so why DVDs?
So this:

is stupid to the extreme. Why make it even harder to play. Don`t they want to have international customers? Isn`t money the same as money? *headdesk*
