OMG, I just zapped randomly through channels and on one the old Stargate movie is being played. Youngish floppy-haired James Spader. Then I zap on and Boston Legal comes on. And yes, I know it`s the same guy but it`s like time travelling in the span of seconds. Or like watching of these aging softwares at work. Not a pretty sight. *shudder*
Ah, but James Spader just rocks so much. He was great in Stargate, I love him on Boston Legal...and back in the 80s in Pretty in Pink? I liked him way more than the love interest.
It was just, I hadn`t seen him recently and it was my first exposure to his Boston Legal-appearance so I was shocked. Especially 3 seconds after Proto Daniel Jackson. :) And I liked him there too. I`ll probably will skip BL though since I`m fed up with lawyer shows.
God, Pretty in Pink was ages ago. Who was the love interest in that? Andrew McCarthy? Have to admit I don`t remember that film very well. The one I remember best from the Ringwald-era is my beloved "Breakfast Club."
Boston Legal is not exactly a lawyer show. It tries to be in the beginning but after a bunch of episodes the writers start doing what they do best: Making fun of everything. It's very funny.
Hm, funny you say, then I might give it a try. For some reason I think William Shatner is hilarious making fun of things because it just comes so naturally to make fun of him.
You know from certain angles Jensen and young James Spader have a little bit of a resemblance. But anyway, I used to love how him and Andrew McCarthy kept appearing in the same films--and Spader's character was always trying to keep McCarthy's from getting the girl he wanted. :) It's only in the last few years he's started getting a bit 'puffy', right up until his early 40's he still looked really good.
