X-Men, the second

Saw X-Men: Days of Future Past again and liked it a lot more than the first time around. Which is strange for me. But I think after letting go of some expectations I had for the movie, I could enjoy it for what it was. Also in retrospect I really like that First Class was more Erik`s movie while this one was more Charles`. That leaves room for Apocalypse to be both their stories as writer Simon Kinberg said. And James MacAvoy killed it in the role.

Also, as an avid fan of soundtracks, it`s fitting that the standout piece from First Class was Magneto`s theme whereas for DOFP it`s Xavier`s Hope theme. Which I love. And it was used really well in some hauntingly beautiful future scenes.

So at this point, I`m quite happy with the movie.

Did you write up a review previously saying what you didn't like about the movie the first time? Anyway, I haven't seen it. Glad you enjoyed it the second time around.

I did one here but in retrospect I think I expected of this movie what the next one is gonna be like.

I was all focused on the Charles-and-Erik have to work together again and figured it would be kinda like Thor/Loki in the Dark World. But the uniting-against-a-common-enemy thing will probably happen in Apocalypse.

I should probably start from the beginning and re-watch the other movies before seeing this.

I think it works if you are roughly familiar with the X-Men universe (like know who Professor X, Magneto, Wolverine and Mystique are) and watch First Class. But at least X-Men 1 and 2 are always worth a rewatch IMO.

Oh, yeah, I know who all of them are. It's just been a while since I've seen any of the movies. It might be nice to refresh myself. Plus I don't know if I've seen all of any but the first movie. I just can't remember. lol
