Goodness gracious, if I never hear (or read) the fucking word "twitter" again, it will be too soon.

I so agree. I gave up twitter a long time ago. It just was not for me. To Twit or not to Twit. That was the question and the Answer was NO.
Have I driven you mad yet.

Oh, it's nothing spectacular just that I read nothing else from the latest Supernatural con than "Jared Padalecki had joined twitter". And boy, is this really soooo news-worthy?

Granted, I don't have a twitter myself and don't plan to but you'd imagine the actual Holy Grail has been found or something intead of simply another actor tweeting random stuff about themselves. *eyeroll*

I do have an account, but use it about as often as the bloody FB one (=almost never). That being said, Mischa Collin's posts are quite funny. And after seeing Jared's stream (took three clicks to find) I've got to say that for fans it's probably indeed some sort of Holy Grail. ^_^

But yeah, I share your "so what" sentiment when it comes to the-site-that-shall-not-be-named.

Granted, if it was Jensen, I'd probably be a lot more interested myself and Misha does have pretty amusing ideas. But as those tweets/crazy pictures usually get linked all over the place, I can get them without following twitter so ultimately I'll stand by my "so what?"

Hihi, me too!
I don't follow other SPN sources, so I wouldn't see tweets/crazy pics anywhere else, but admittedly I'm not too crazy about this fandom at any rate. Still love the show, but additional info I can do without...

I'm pretty much out of it, lest for a few small corners where I know I can find likeminded people. After six years I'm just wanked and discussed out on things and I believe at this points, the "fronts" are stuck and won't change until the show ends.

Still love the show

Admittedly, if Jensen wasn't in it, I would have stopped watching last Season. As it is I fastforward heavily. It's really problematic to have a small cast show where you are no longer engaged with the majority of characters. And I'm certainly not about to watch for the plot. *g*

At least in an ensemble, I usually have two or three that I like, maybe two more I'm indifferent about and another two I loathe so depending on the screentime each gets I can still largely enjoy it. SPN always lived or fell with the characters for me so now it has pretty much fallen.

Agreed in this respect - with the lowest point being the killing of both strong women characters.

It's not the only show whose twitching corpse is on display every week, so to speak - CSI suffers a similar fate, character-wise. I'm glad that there's still stuff like Hawaii 5-0, House and (at some point) Sherlock to look forward to. Also, Game of Thrones is a fantastic piece of story-telling, so all hope isn't lost yet for the next tv season.

I wish they'd let the old shows go out in style instead of beating them with sticks until there's simply nothing that can be done anymore. (Well, this is more about CSI than SPN, as the storyline of the latter isn't too bad in comparison.)

You mean Ellen and Jo? At least they got the best bow-out they have given any character so far. And I'm reasonably sure it will be better than whatever the leads get when this show is over. It irks me that they killed them off just when I felt they had gotten in the groove of writing both characters but on this show dead means the writers can't twist or besmirch your character anymore (theoretically at least).

But on the whole this incessant killing off of supporting characters pisses me off. It's far from shocking at this point. In fact, shocking would be to let them live. And even the asocial, grumpy John managed to build a network of people. Bobby apparently knows every hunter under the sun.

One of the few inadvertent laughs of the last Season came for me in that Star Trek parasite episode where Bobby and Rufus (another one down) called all their contacts and Dean and Sam...sat around and waited. Jeeze Luise, they should have their own network by now.

CSI, I think I haven't watched any for five to six years now. But I was never invested in the characters so quitting was easy. With SPN, I still often feel like tearing my hairs out. It's more like Buffy for me this way.

Good point.

Ah, but the boys are DOERS, not (social) NETWORKERS... ^^

It's actually a good thing about CSI that it's (most of the time) more about the cases than the people. Pity that this concept was switched around completely with the arrival of Grissom's replacement. Suddenly EVERYTHING was about Ray Langston to a ridiculous degree. (Guess they really wanted to make the best of having Laurence Fishburne on board.) I hope his character will go to prison/die/disappear in the next ep and never show up again. Maybe then the writers will remember that there are other characters on this show as well...

Regarding SPN I still like the monster hunter theme and also the relationship between the boys/Bobby and between everyone and Castiel. But I guess I'm shallow that way and overlook things if they don't fit, just because I want to continue liking the show.

Ah, actor (and subsequently new character) pimping. That can get old fast. I mean, it's bearable if I like the character/actor (yup, I'm a happy hypocrite this way *g) but still.

I'm usually pretty forgiving when it comes to fictional characters but I do have a few solid squicks for characters and relationships and they managed to hit them so badly in Season 5, I never really came back from it. It killed the character of Sam and the brotherly relationship in my eyes.

The one thing I was still rooting for/shipping was Dean/Cas. And there is a big question mark how they'll handle that.

But I guess I'm shallow that way and overlook things if they don't fit, just because I want to continue liking the show.

Oh, I totally get the feeling. I had this in other shows where I'd read people's aggrievances and thought "hm, you're not wrong about that" but for myself I could deal with them pretty well.

Hehe i had no intention to join it also but was so behind on everything with my friends i thought wtf and joined just to read them and be in contact.
But this whole con mess annoys me. Yes i see why some fans are happy (if Jensen would join twitter i'd be happy too) but all this *i have no time for this wait i joined follow me* shit is no fun for me.
