Since I have been away for our annual Slasher Meeting, I didn't get to post reviews for the latest episodes of

Supernatural

That was actually a reveal I didn't see coming a mile away so kudos. Of course, it was also a retcon because Kripke said angels were a late addition to the arc so no way did he have that in mind in TT or MS. But I liked it nevertheless.

And was deliriously happy to have some myth-arc connection again. If you want to do an apocalypse, bloody commit to it. That calls for a tight arc and not rag-tag comedy.

Loved the spoofs. Dr.Sexy, M.D. and Dean's little crush on him was so adorable. If they were on the beach, Dean would have totally stubbed his toe in the sand all bashful. And the dig at the Denny storyline.

The sitcom intro was adorable.

The game-show was, well, mostly about Gabe amusing himself. But I don't think there were lessons for the characters since they didn't understand what  it was about.

CSI - they totally mugged it up there. Ha. Aw, Dean, I kinda like procedurals, some of them. But you do have a point.

Knight Rider - starring Dean as "Michael", ha. And Sam as Kitt - loved his "this feels really uncomfortable...ow".

This ep had quite a bit of smart!boys. BOTH of them which is ALWAYS appreciated.

Loved Richard Speight's performance. Surefire way to get an angel emotional? Talk about "Daddy" and the "family". Worked even with Zach.

Would have loved more of Castiel.

Adored seeing Dean's leadership potential return. He really has the natural charisma for it, even to sway angels. You could see his words struck a chord. And of course he is the agent of free will vs. destiny. Always has been.

Big thumbs up.

Merlin

I didn't like the pacing so much because everything seemed to spiral out of control in a matter of seconds when, I presume, days went by.

Merlin was an idiot in the beginning but you could feel for him.

Uther was a real idiot but at least conflicted when it was Gaius. And Gaius gave him a good kick in the end. "IF you suffered" - Uther, bend over for your kick.

That witchfinder dude struck me as an idiot, too. What, did he think he would blithely accuse Morgana and Uther would nod along as well? You know, at this point I WANT someone to accuse Morgana of sorcery just to see the reaction. Uther clearly loves her, I can't believe he would just throw her to the wolves.

This time, the Gwen-Arthur scenes worked better because it wasn't about epic luv that came out of nowhere.

I loved the scene of Arthur manhandling Merlin out of the throne room. Hug, hug, hug. Come on, they were positioned like in a hug. And Merlin looked so cute and little in Arthur's strong arms. Ahem.

Little thumbs up.

and a few words as to SGU

I knew the stones were a bad idea but THAT bad?

Wacky hijinks of the rape variety. Yay. It's like Lucius has never left.  *headdesk*    And the PTBs are bitchier than ever in defending them. It used to be "oops, we didn't see how that could be rape" and now it's "shut up, wankers, you didn't see it but everybody said yes".  Stay Classy.

Also Chloe? The chick whose function on the ship is to doodle Scot and whenever Scot is not available to give Eli false hope? Fantastic. Not.

And, people are really actually freaking out over yesterday's news over Jensen's engagement? Like seriously? Call me crazy but when someone is in a relationship, they are in a relationship to me and it doesn't matter all that much which official "status" that relationship has. They look nice together and I wish them the best.

However, their private lifes have never been that much of my concern, ditto for the announcement(s) last year. What they do when with whom where is their business. It doesn't hurt or in any way tarnishes my squee/fantasies as to certain who's/where's/when's.

Re: SPN - don't forget the TMI genital herpes commercial! XD I loved Sam's "Seriously?" I feared that it would a pointless filler but wow! I didn't see that comming!

Have you seen the ratings for SGU's latest ep? 1.63 mil. - that's below SGA's S5 average!

Oooh, the commercial, yes, that was great. Last week the clap, this week genital herpes. Ahahahaha.

No wonder. The only thing that keeps the characters apart are varying degrees of douchebaggery.

Loved Richard Speight's performance.

Isn't he amazing? I love his acting, and I have a huge weakness for his eyes.

And this episode was great! I love the Trickster's episodes, they allow so much freedom for the writers.

You know, at this point I WANT someone to accuse Morgana of sorcery just to see the reaction.

That'd be interesting! I was actually shocked by how Uther showed emotions only after it had been proven that Gaius was innocent. Before that, he was pretty quiet. Same thing goes for Arthur, I have to say. But the hug dragging away scene was delicious!

Exactly. They did the same in the previous episode, that's how they should have done it at the beginning of the season, and then, at the end of it, bring the big guns and have them kiss and Arthur to declare his undying love, that would have seemed more natural.

I think he did before - he didn't have the stomach to stay for the execution he himself ordered. Which of course is cowardly also. It's not like Gaius could leave.

They totally put the cart before the horse with the pairing.

I pretty much only watch out of convenience now. Probably not for much longer if this goes on.

What you said at the end there... ditto. heh

The article about this on Buddy TV started with "Sorry, ladies..." and I was actually taken aback by that. Sorry ladies? heh Are there seriously any "ladies" out there hoping that if Jensen is single he just might meet them and...then what? *g* It makes no sense at all.

Even if one likes to fantasize about a particular celebrity, what he or she does in his/her private life doesn't really make a difference. I really can't see how Jensen's engagement changes anything. I do hope he's happy, though.

Buddy-TV did an article on it? By the Jensen-hating John Kubincek? Urgh. That guy is such a disgusting hypocrite.

I read in some article that Jensen was "off the market now". So, dudes in commited relationships are still fair game until they are engaged? *shakes head*

Yup. :) I mean, the only thing keeping Jensen and me apart is an ocean. *g*

LOL Oh, right. I forgot. There's nothing keeping Jensen and me apart. Who cares if I'm married or anything, but once he's engaged, everything changes. hehe

And, yes, I saw an article about it on Buddy TV. I wouldn't even have clicked on it except for the "Sorry ladies..." thing looked so patronizing. Ack. I don't recall who the author was, though.

I had no idea someone on Buddy TV disliked Jensen. I see articles about SPN on there all the time, but I seldom read them anymore, mostly because I'm not even watching the show anymore.

That douchey writer usually makes snide digs against Dean but okay he is fictional character so whatever - even though the "would Dean EVER risk his life for a stranger" question was almost comical, have you seen the show, dude? ANY episode of it?

But then he made a remark on how Jensen maybe wrote his own lines or something about Dean making pervy comments on cheerleaders/high school girls because maybe he IS a pervert. The real life actor. And his "evidence"? Nothing but the fact that David Duchovny is a sex addict and plays one on TV so maybe this is the case with Jensen, too. Pure assumptions. Because it's not like the writers write the dialogue.

When his smug, douchey ass was called out for it, he was all "wah, wah, I can say whatever I want."

So can I, dude. And I say: drop dead.

Wow. That is ridiculous. Obviously, I don't know him, but it's ridiculous to make assumptions about an actor because of a character that he plays. By that logic, Mark Harmon must be a serial killer, because he played one in a movie once and so on. hehe

Even more than that, though, but Jensen? Obviously I don't know him, but if anything all I've heard about him is that he's shy and can come across as reserved, if someone wanted to take that as negative (which I don't).

And about Dean: meh. This is a big part of why I hate the character now. In season 1 and 2, he was quite a different character than in season 3 and possibly beyond. Matter of opinion, I know, but it didn't cause me to assume that Jensen was somehow a perv. heh

I thought Mark Harmon is the leader of an NCIS unit. :-p

Like I said, casting aspersions on the fictional characters is one thing - I still love Dean, my love returned full force in Season 4 whereas I wanted to punch Sam senseless all throughout last year (and some of this) - but bringing the actors in like that is stupid.

If an actor as a person does something I disagree with, like abuse/rape/supporting Polanski-fail, that is a different matter. But other than their acting, I don't criticize them for the characters they play.
