Are you talking about Reaper?

Nope, Gossip Girl. Reaper won`t premiere before next week but Gossip Girl started last night, after the best-rated show on the network, with almost no competetion and it was insanely hyped all through summer. People predicted 6 Million or more. It did 3,65 Million.
Now Dawn Ostroff especially who seemed to have pictured it as the network`s new powerhouse looks like an idiot. Somehow I just find that incredibly funny. *g*

Good. Good. Even though it might sound mean, I really do hope that their new shows fail. Especially Reaper - I did give it a try but I still didn't like it. They get so much promo etc. and Supernatural zip. I hope that they will fall on their noses!

I understand the necessity to promote the new shows but from what I heard they went overboard with GG and Reaper. I would predict Reaper to start well and then lose viewers till it steadies in the lower 3 Million range but then I would have predicted a good start for GG as well, so I don`t know.

Awww... I liked it.

Which doesn't bode well for the show at all because I usually HATE soap operas about teenagers.

It`s not so much about the show itself, haven`t seen it and didn`t plan to because over the last years soaps have started annoying the crap out of me - is it better than your average teen thing then? - but I don`t care for Ostroff and the whole CW`s business proposal of "lets be the tweener network".

And while I understand the point of being positive I found her to be all smug and "yeah, that totally will be our hit show" leaning out the window too far. So this makes me snigger.
Also I have only read about all the promotion but is it possible the show was being overhyped? I know after a certain point I`d get more annoyed than excited if something was everywhere.

lol See, that's why I stay far away from interviews and promos. They just make you bitter before the show even started. I expected absolutely nothing from the show and was mostly positively surprised, especially by the awesome character who made a pretty good "Steff from Pretty in Pink" impression.

If I'd have to compare this show to anything it would be The Rules of Attraction.

A show about rich teens being vapid, shallow and cruel! Lord knows we haven't seen this before

But...but surely they`re just misunderstood. And all their designer clothes, credit cards and sports cars can`t fill the emptiness in their cold little hearts so they are FORCED to pick on the underprivileged. And now the underprivileged don`t even want to see their snotty asses on TV. I feel for them. *bows head in silent prayer*

Gawds, will somebody tell them that that's enough that kind of shows we already watched? I'm boring from the description. But the effort they include in its promotion just scares me. Almost nothing for SN and so much sh*t for GG. I feel like i don't understand something :(
