DVD Talk and the coming Apokalypse

My Mom who never really watches a TV show with any interest, more like background noise and even those I remember her liking from when I was younger, she declined my offer to gift her with the DVDs, has purchased Bones Season 1 DVD. Seriously the only show she owns is "Ein Herz und eine Seele".

I had few absolute beliefs in life but her cynical and utter disinterest in most things TV was one of them. Now I feel betrayed and unsure about my place in life. :( *g*

I know she wants the Australian comedy Hey Dad on DVD but it`s not fucking out anywhere. Sigh.

In other DVD news Tripods looks to come out soon, both Seasons with Extras. God, that show scared the hell out of me as a kid. But in a good way.

And Supernatural Season 2 the region 1 DVD will be out on Sept. 11th. With a gag reel - yay and commentaries - yay. Please just freaking more than two. I love commentaries. I understand Jensen and Jared not having time to do much but WRITERS, DIRECTORS, Co-STARS? Speak the hell up. I especially like commentaries on bad episodes because it`s nice to listen to what the hell they were thinking.

Also does anybody know about Extras for the Heroes DVD? I know there are online commentaries but due to my internet situation I haven`t been able to listen to them. Hopefully they`ll be on the DVD. Also what about this web comic I`m hearing about? Anyone? Bueller?

Verena told me Jensen said his auditioning tape for Sam would be on the DVD - did you hear that, too?

But freaking 60$? They must be kidding.

If so I don`t remember. Cool.

I don`t know where the dollar stands right now but I think it`s still cheaper than the fucking Region 2 half Season boxes. Halsabschneider. :/
Shipping might make it quite expensive for us though. Well, maybe the price will go down until it comes out. Did last year.

Btw, did you see the unaired scenes from the UK Season 2 Box? Some people had uploaded them.

I didn't because the scenes didn't really sound interesting...

Well, she said he did but maybe she misheard something :-)

Most of them are extended versions of scenes we already know and the ones from "Usual Suspects" are pretty boring. But there is one from "In my time of Dying" that is really, really cute. And the "Bloodlust" one is nifty too. I recommend those at least.

The online commentaries are United States only, but *cough* I've got them anyway.... There are supposed to be commentaries on the DVDs, too, but no word if those are the same or different once.
As for the web comic: http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/novels/
If you want to read them I'd recommend downloading the printable versions. The files are way too large to open them online.
The comics are interesting. You don't need to read them to understand the show but they fill in some empty places. Like, why was Eden so reluctant to use her powers on Isaac and Mohinder. How did Audrey's hunt for Sylar look like before she met Matt. There's a lengthy background story for Linderman and Petrelli the Elder. There's also Hana Gintelman who we almost never saw on-screen (she was the girl Bennett worked with in the future and who got shot by Matt), but has a very large role in the web comic.

And: Part of the comics are beautifully done.

Ah thanks, will check it out. Are the commentaries any good btw? It`s always very hit and miss when actors do them

I haven't listened to everything but you should check out the commentaries with Sendhil Ramamurthy, Zach Quinto, Greg Grunberg and/or Jack Coleman. As far as I remember the Milo/Greg Grunberg was good, too. But Zach Quinto and Milo was boring because they are both rather silent people. However, Zach Quinto/Sendhil Ramamurthy was great, same goes for Sendhil Ramamurthy/Greg Grunberg.
