Eek, there is such a thing as S/D and Non-con in RPS? Non-con? Somehow that squicks me sideways even though I enjoy your garden variety non-con h/c story otherwise. Now I feel like a hypocrite. :(

Don't feel like a hypocrite. Non-con RPS squicks me out, too. Around as much as underage stories squick me out.

It just feels different than fictional characters even though when reading "normal" fanfic I picture the characters like I know them which happens to be the actors. But still, it`s another level for me.

Yeah, it squicks me, too.

I guess it's a line I don't feel comfortable crossing in RPF.

I don't like non-con stories in the first place but as RPF, *bleargh*.

Or you know real people being written as sluts, addicts, violent crazy jerks. If you want to write stuff like that why not invent it?

And one can't even argue that it's ooc becaus who even knows what's in character with rpf.

I guess that make me a hyprcrite, too then.

I don't mind much though. ;)

I like the comfort part of h/c so I stomach the non-con for that and am perfectly okay with it only mentioned not graphically depicted. Stories that just focus on rape are not my thing.

But writing about real people, actors being raped and beaten is just a whole `nother level. Eek again.
And it`s different for me than writing them into a relationship or having sex.

Yeah I mean if that`s a topic you want to explore - which totally valid - than why not a) do it to fictional characters that fit the profile or b) making up OCs. Why take real people?

It`s like writing about people that are known and real is like an extra thrill.
I mean if all the author wants is hotness they can just describe their OCs as such but why planting the face of actors on then. They wouldn`t do that to their families or friends now would they? I`d get sick even thinking about writing a blatant non-con story about my friend. Yuck.

Yes, if you only have to skim the non-con or rape to get to the h/c stuff that's alright for me, too.

(BTW, have you read Destina's 'The Night Country' and didn't like it or was that Schizo only? Here's the link if you haven't read it: )http://destina.livejournal.com/365380.html

Of course.

I find... well, disrespectful and there's still a little voice inside of me that every time I read rps chimes in with 'but he's quite probably not actually into fucking men'.

No, I don`t think I read that one. Will check it out. I just saw it was after "Devil`s Trap". I guess that spawned a lot of h/c.
Do you know "The Odds Are" where Dean after the trauma reverts back into a childlike state plus amnesia? He is really adorable even though the overall tone is angsty.

I know. Some of them are married/in long-term relationships.
I find it funny for instance that fandom-wise Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum will probably celebrate their secret 10 year anniversary soon. I mean, do they even still get sexy RPS or old married couple RPS? :)

And while JA and JPad really ask for it with their constant boy-touching I can`t help but remember when a fan asked about NC-17 stuff at Paley (did you watch btw?) and their little innocent faces turned this way and that all confused. If they read a tenth of the stuff that is going around in fandom they`ll probably turn beet-red and hide under a blankie for a week.

Well, Devil's Trap just screams for it. *puuuun*

Actually it's still sexy, yes. Though I don't read it specifically; only what I stumble over when searching for SPN RPS.

Yes, I did watch the Paley interview and wasn't it the cutest thing ever? :)

And yeah, the reaction to that question was telling. And I really hope that they have the 'fanfiction is crap mentality' I had before reading the right stuff. At least that will keep them away from The Crazy.

But the fact that they didn't even know what NC 17 means seemed weird.

It was so sweet. And I loved Kim Manners "I read for Sam." Hee. And his gesture when they mentioned "Bugs." Double hee.

Yeah but I just wanted to cuddle and protect them, they looked so lost and naive.
I learned all my fanfic acronyms the hard way by clicking on fic. And wasn`t that an eye-opening adventure. ;)

Hehe, dito on Kim Manners and I love the way the boys are totally fangirling him.

And the funniest thing about the NC 17 part was Kripke saying that CW is big on the full frontal male nudity stuff. *hee* We wish.

Maybe on HBO. Where I am innocently watching "Rome" and "woah, is that little Marc Anthony?" :)
I`d love for Jensen to do a period piece some time. Maybe we can have a SPN travel back in time episode.

Uhm, that was chinas_rose . It`s still WIP, currently at Part 10, I think. You can check everything out at her LJ. The rape part is mentioned flashback-wise but it is a blatant comfort love fest. :)
It gets a bit too medical-technical for me sometimes but I just love Dean as a little boy and Sam saying: "Don`t hurt my sick big little brother" to John. Awww.

Ohoh, WIP I try to keep away from them. ;-)

But I'll bookmark it and read it when it's finished.

I have to admit that non-con squicks me out if it's between my favored pairing. If it's more of a "bad thing happened/recovery period" type of fic, I'd read that, but I don't want details of the rape or whatever.

My only exception would be "alien made them do it" fics in the Stargate fandom. Those were pretty popular. *g* You might have disliked them, but not all were mind control type fics. *g* For me those would work since both parties would be equally influenced, whether it was by mind control or some sort of physical control or just the situation.
