Nelson Munz tells you: Haha

The recent episode of Copper featured one of the funniest murder investigations (as far as such things can be funny in a fictionary sense of course) I`ve seen in a long time. And while you could have a case like this in a modern procedural, I know that they would close it with some "profound" and "deep" statements on the human mind (picture Horatio dramatically donning his sunglasses here).

So I found Corky and Not!Francis`reaction really, really refreshing. Because it totally was MY reaction to the whole reveal - an idiotic grin. *g*

That was a new take on the whodunnit mystery, alright.

But I seriously had to talk myself into watching the episode - the whole every-girl-loves-Corky-thing is getting on my nerves.
At least one of them is dead now.

That was a new take on the whodunnit mystery, alright.

I laughed so hard when they figured out who the murderer was. And of course in the beginning when the seargant greedily tucked into the fruit cake - right next to a dead dude with discoloured skin and puke around him - I immediately started giggling.

the whole every-girl-loves-Corky-thing is getting on my nerves.

It`s straining credulity quite a bit. And I guess I wouldn`t even mind it so much if they were just attracted to him, or interested or even slightly infatuated. But no, every single one of them basically turns into a sociopath to get him. Eva turned murderer, Elizabeth concocted the lie about Annie and Annie herself - whose "love" for him makes the most psychological sense in a twisted way - has been acting majorly crazy.

Maybe he attracts those kind of women?

At least one of them is dead now.

And our crack police team with the keen instincts weren`t even slightly suspicious about her suicide. Seemed weird to me.

Not to mention Francis has been over her awfully quick. He just seems in a hurry to get married, regardless to whom.

*snort* The seargant, yes. Awesome way to go dude!

Well, apparently Eleonor wasn't an angel either. Well, it`s all your own damn fault, Corky.

But it really, really annoys me. And the whole making-out scene with Elizabeth after she told him she gave Annie back to her family, uggh!

(And I don't even like Annie much, or the actress - she overdoes it a bit sometimes - but her desperation at the end was so convincing)

He knows who that girl was married to. Still, some tears and some touchy-feely groping from the Mrs and he suddenly doesn't care anymore?

weren`t even slightly suspicious about her suicide

THIS. I was actually looking forward to the aftermath of that, but... nothing. Argh!

Oh, but Francis' newly betrothed is just about the only interesting character right now. I like her. She's fierce and a bit cray-cray - totally my kind of girl. ;)

I thought it was a bit strange again that he accepted it so easily but Elizabeth didn`t tell Corky she gave Annie back to her (Annie`s) family, just sent her to live with some nice family in California.

I took it that Corky assumed Elizabeth had found some decent foster parents she knows well. There is probably hell to pay when he finds out the truth.

And I can handwave that he didn`t suspect the "father" aka husband because a) what Elizabeth told him and b) he would have assumed they scared the guy off.

Oh, I totally believe she realized she had gone too far and was desperately pleading. Also, I don`t think Elizabeth knew she had given her back to another child molester instead of her "father".

Wait for it to come out in or around the Season Finale. :)

And she still has the ledger from her sister, the abortion doctor, right? Where, potentially, Kevin`s wife could be in it. I expect that, too, to come out in or around the Season Finale.

Probably along with the "my fiendish plans to buy up New York - and will later be known as Manhattan - and evict all the Irish folks, let me tell you about it" from the Morehouses.

Ohh, now I feel sheepish. I actually thought E. had found her father-father. I didn't recognize the guy.

Is there a spoiler aroung or are you guessing by experience?
Eh, I wanted immediate aftermath - not the fact that Eva killed her or something coming out around the finale.

And she still has the ledger from her sister, the abortion doctor, right?

YES! I love that she goes around blackmailing child molesters. :D

Oh, just guessing mostly.

There is a phrase in the summary of the ep at tv.com that I don`t quite understand, though. It says "Corky throws in with Eva, Morehouse and the precinct".

Now normally, I`d say "throw in" as in "throwing in one`s lot", allying yourself with them. But in the context that doesn`t make much sense since he is "allied" with all of them now. So he may have a falling out with them all? Which could be in terms of Eva if he finds out the truth.
