I've had it forever but only just now watched the Unaired Pilot of the Big Bang Theory.

My reaction? Remember in the last Star Trek movie when Bones gives Kirk this vaccine that leads to his hands swelling up to a grotesque size and the first time Kirk sees them, he squeaks in terror and goes "what the hell is this" in a really high-pitched voice? Yup, kinda like this. *g*

So I take it the aired version is better? *g* Haven't watched that show at all...

What's so horrible about it? Now I'm curious! :-)

Yup, the aired version is OODLES better and I only found the Pilot slightly amusing back then.

It's difficult to explain the difference without knowing the "real" Big Bang. Apart from some BIG re-casts, the lead female is a different actress and the one nerdy female sidekick became two male sidekicks, the biggest difference is the Sheldon character. It's kinda like watching an unaired version of Star Trek the Next Generaton where Data is a big ladies man with an outgoing personality. Or an unaired version of the X-Files Pilot where Mulder has a cushy job as a fashion photographer and has never heard the words "alien" or "conspiracy" in his life. Eek.

Heeeeee, I love your comparisons! Especially the XF one. :-)) Now I really want to watch that version of XF! It might be truly great - especially if Scully is the vet Mulder brings his hamsters to, and the two of them team up to explore some odd phenomena involving a fashion show with dogs...

For the record: Mulder's relationship with his hamsters is absolutely above reproach. You know Mulder, after all.
