You know, if I ignore any and all incosistencies that prequels vs. later-yet-earlier sequels bring and take X-Men: First Class on its own, I'm really kind of in love with it. I mean, it really was a romantic tragedy and the Charles/Eric of it all was so gloriously slashy, it makes my little heart go pitter-patter with glee. I mean, did you see that scene on the beach, DID YOU? I mean hundreds (thousands?) of soldiers on those ships owe their lifes to the single fact that Erik loves Charles and immediately let go of his focus on the missiles to run to a wounded Charles' side. I don't think he would have done that for anyone else, love for mutants as a theoretical concept or not. *g*

Currently scouting for good Charles/Eric fanfiction. So if any one has some recs, I'd be grateful.

Aren't those two just precious? ~.~ My love for this movie has no bounds! I prefer to see it as a stand-alone movie that has nothing to do with any of the later... err... former? *hands* movies. Smallville was AU to Superman and this is AU to X-Men. It makes me happier that way.

Totally. It was so, so heartbreaking when they split up. Sniffle.

And is it only me or were their neverending chess sessions a substitute for sex in the movie, with the requisite angsty pillow talks? They even continue to do it regularly in the other movies. Teehee. I just imagined the director going "hm, what could they do instead of doing it?"

Yeah, I think I'm kinda there too now, just easier this way. Of course I'd love to redo the other movies now to make it fit.

And I got a million and one plot bunnies for post-movie ficcage. I haven't felt the muse for almost two years now. *flails*

Ha, it was funny in how many place they "did" it, wasn't it? I mean, who carries a chess board with them when strolling through a city? O.o

I have like three fics started but I'm getting distracted by the shiny! ~.~
